The backbone of our running club are our Saturday morning runs.
All of these informal runs meet at Spring Road and the Prairie Path. Next to the Gazebo. Various groups meet 10 minutes before 6:00 am and and promptly head out on the Prairie Path. Depending on runners, race schedules and the point they are at in their training, people just show up and join up. It’s a casual none structured run but it really works. You’ll catch on and fit in quickly. Marathon training, which starts on June 11th, does have a 6:00 am start time and there’s always a predetermined distance with several pace group options. We want you there!
Our program will start June 11th at the Gazebo at Spring Road and the Prairie Path. We will have a quick but important meeting at 6:00 a.m. prior to the start of our first group run. Marathon Training will be led by ERC Member and Volunteer Marc Velasco. All Saturday runs will leave promptly at 6:00 a.m. We suggest you get there 15 minutes before the start. It is recommended that you be able to run at least 6 miles by June 11th. We all need to be training right now.
Our #1 Goal is that everybody who participates in the marathon training program, no matter the pace, fits in and is adequately prepared for their race.
Track Workouts are every Thursday at 5:00 am at the York High School Track. John Appleton is leading and coaching our track workouts. Everyone is invited to participate no matter what your skill level is. And remember, if you just want to come and run, the outer 2 lanes of the track will be available for you.
Winter Track Workouts are held at the York High School Indoor Track during the months of January and February on Wednesday mornings from 5:00 to 6:00 a.m. Every Thursday there will be a specific track workout for the group. For those who come just to run, the outer 2 lanes of the track are designated for them. Don’t miss this opportunity to get out of the cold and run with your running buddies!
